The Next Wave in Luxury: 4 Luxury Packaging Trends We Spotted at LuxePack Paris

Our team has just spent two days at LuxePack Paris, one of the leading global events for premium packaging. After dozens of conversations with brand managers, CSR experts, designers and business owners, one thing is clear: luxury packaging is evolving.

Here are four trends shaping its future:

📦 Sensory is the new signature
Premium packaging is becoming a multi-sensory experience. Brands are introducing textured finishes, soft-touch matte surfaces, embossing, and even scented or crinkle-textured layers to enhance the unboxing ritual.

📦 The twilight of ‘quiet luxury’
Minimalism is still dominant: elegant design, neutral tones, lots of negative space. But we’re seeing signs of saturation. Many brands are now seeking to stand out again, returning to unique forms, bold materials, and craft-inspired details.

📦 Retro is back, and Gen Z is remixing it
Expect nods to 80s and 90s graphic styles: geometric shapes, bold gradients, metallic inks. Alongside that, Gen Z is driving a new kind of personalisation — think layered charms, collectible packaging, co-creation campaigns. Aesthetic meets play.

📦 Impact is the new luxury
Traditionally, luxury packaging focused on appearance and feel. But with younger generations prioritizing sustainability, impact is now part of the brief. That shift is evident: LuxePack Paris dedicated an entire section to eco-friendly packaging solutions.

Sustainability is becoming a baseline. What other packaging trends do you think are coming next?
